The Disaster Risk and Exposure Assessment for Mitigation (DREAM) Program was one among the host of hi-tech projects featured in the National Science and Technology Week 2013 held last July 22-27 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
The five-day event was attended by students and individuals both from the public and private sectors. Among the visitors of the DREAM Program booth were Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Mario Montejo, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Dinky Soliman, and Senator Loren Legarda. Booth attendance was at about 2,200.
In its display, the Program showcased its state-of-the-art technologies and products like the Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) system and the high-resolution maps generated from LiDAR data. Participants to the NSTW were also given an exclusive three-dimensional experience through a 3D video simulation that featured the processed LiDAR data on Cagayan de Oro City.

The same DREAM display was set up in the succeeding regional legs of the S&T event, the first of which was the South Luzon Cluster Science and Technology Fair and Exhibits. Said event was held last September 12 to 14 at the Sky Ranch Activity Tent, Tagaytay City.
The Program’s booth hosted a total of 650 guests, which include students from the elementary to the tertiary levels, research enthusiasts, private individuals, and government officials. Tagaytay City Mayor Agnes D. Tolentino also graced the DREAM exhibit in the said fair.
