DREAM Head bags 2015 OYS Award

Disaster Risk and Exposure Assessment for Mitigation (DREAM) Program Leader Enrico C. Paringit, Dr.Eng. took home one of the 2015 Outstanding Young Scientist titles in an announcement released by the National Academy of Science and Technology last 2 June 2015. 

Dr. Paringit is presently the Program Leader of the DREAM/PHIL-LiDAR 1 Hazard Mapping of the Philippines Using LiDAR. He also heads other climate change-related projects, such as the PHIL-LiDAR 2 Resource Mapping of the Philippines Using LiDAR Program Forest Resource Extraction from LiDAR Surveys Project. Concurrently, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Geodetic Engineering, College of Engineering, University of the Philippines Diliman.

The recognition awarded to Dr. Paringit is one of the 12 OYS awards handed yearly. The OYS body confers citations to Filipino scientists who are not over the age of 40 at the time of awarding, and who have significant scientific and technological contributions in any of the following fields: agricultural sciences, biological sciences, social sciences, health sciences, engineering sciences and technology, chemical, mathematical, and physical sciences.
