With the Python-programmed automated Water Level Forecast Sensors (WLFS) necessary to the fulfillment of the Phil-LiDAR 1 Program's mandate, a Python Programming Language training was conducted for Flood Modelling Component (FMC) personnel, as well as other representatives from the Data Validation Component (DVC), Data Processing Component (DPC), Data Archiving and Distribution Component (DAD), together with students from the SMART Visayas Project last March 18, 19, 20, 23, and 24, 2015. The 5-day training was conducted by Chikka Technical Training Analyst Rodolfo Duldulao, as part of Chikka's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.
Mr. Rodolfo Duldulao, who also spearheaded the crafting of the CRS Online Enrollment system of the University of the Philippines Los Banos, imparted important technical information regarding the Python Programming Language to the Phil-LiDAR 1 participants. The said training will equip the DPC and FMC with the technical skills to refine the script of the WLFS System, and update and maintain the WLFS System with high-quality outputs. The training will also ensure that the Phil-LiDAR 1 Program has the internal technical capacity to keep its WLFS system functioning properly and efficiently, with the technical knowledge able to be applied effectively by a group of DPC and FMC personnel. Meanwhile, the DPC and FMC personnel will be able to transfer their learnings to other DPC and FMC personnel after the Python Programming Language Seminar, to increase the overall capacity of the whole Phil-LiDAR 1 Program.
