Phil-LiDAR 1 Program concludes 2016 with Year-End Assessment Training

The PHIL-LiDAR 1 – Hazard Mapping of the Philippines Using LiDAR Program conducted its annual Year-end Assessment on December 19, 2016 at the La Breza Hotel in Quezon City. The program was attended by a total of 146 of its 160 personnel including the program leader, project leaders, chief science research specialists, (CSRS), senior and supervising science research specialists, research associates and administrative personnel. The sessions were facilitated by Mr. Alvin P. Principe, a Fellow of the Development Academy of the Philippines’ Center for Governance and designated as the Director of the Operations Management Office with expertise on topics such as strategic and operations planning, project development and management, organizational assessment and development, leadership and management development, and process reengineering.

At the end of the workshop, Phil-LiDAR 1 Program employees were expected to have a better and clearer understanding of the objectives of the Program, particularly of their respective components and teams. Further, these Program and group objectives were targeted to be in line with the staff’s individual goals, to ensure the effectual implementation of the Phil-LiDAR 1 Program.

To address this, the workshop was designed to evaluate the Program’s performance for the past months and identify achievable targets for its duration, relative to the issues or concerns that are to be enumerated in the assessment activities. The activities in the year-end assessment aimed to:

1)      Review the performance of the program according to defined performance parameters;

2)      Surface the program’s current performance gains and performance gaps including performance factors in order to determine likelihood of achieving performance targets for the program;

3)      Formulate the catch-up plan to attain performance targets for the remaining period; and,

4)      Affirm team’s commitment to the program.
