UPD Phil-LiDAR 1 hosts 1st Phil-LiDAR 1 and 2 National Conference

Around 205 participants from the Phil-LiDAR 1 and 2 projects were in attendance in the 1st Phil-LiDAR 1 and 2 National Conference held last November 18 to 19, 2014 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel, Davao City. Said event was organized by the University of the Philippines Diliman Phil-LiDAR 1 Program.
Present to take part in the discussions of accomplishments, targets, and concerns were six (6) representatives each from the Phil-LiDAR 1 and 2 projects of: University of the Philippines Baguio, Mariano Marcos State University, Isabela State University, Central Luzon State University, University of the Philippines Los Banos, Mapua Institute of Technology, Ateneo de Naga University, University of the Philippines Cebu, Visayas State University, University of San Carlos, Central Mindanao University, Caraga State University, Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, and University of the Philippines Mindanao. Among the topics raised in the Conference were the results of the Technical Panel meeting held last November 14, 2014.
Also in attendance to the gathering were representatives from the Department of Science and Technology Region XI office and the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD). The conference was organized to address technical and administrative concerns among the partner state universities and colleges (SUCs) and higher education institutions (HEIs). It also aimed to unify the workplans of the projects to ensure the efficient implementation of the two Programs, each centering on hazard mapping and resource mapping in the Philippines, respectively.
